Troy Giles

Troy Giles has been at the forefront of innovative development that has made South Padre Island a favorite destination for both vacationers and those who enjoy resort living year-round. He also has been instrumental in such projects as the Miss USA Pageant (broadcast live, worldwide from the South Padre Island Convention Center from 1993 to 1995), televised Miss Texas USA Pageants and the first Offshore Powerboat Races also held on South Padre Island. His continuing commitment to the local community is exhibited in his volunteer service to the Board of Directors of Chapel By The Sea and the Beautification & Parks Committee.As a Realtor, Troy Giles has participated as a Director and Committee Member in the local Board of Realtors. Glenda George

Glenda George moved to South Padre Island from Yorkville, Illinois in 2013. As a native of the Rio Grande Valley, Glenda was ready to leave the cold & snow of the Midwest and return to where her childhood memories brought her the most happiness, which is the sun and the sand on South Padre Island.

With an Associates in Accounting and over 20 years of experience in accounting, customer service and sales Glenda started off as one of our HOA Property Managers when first joining our team. She soon realized her true calling, which was beach home sales and earned her Texas Real Estate Sales License shortly after and has been selling non-stop since. J. Rudy Gonzalez, Jr

Originally from Eagle Pass, Tx, Rudy received his Bachelor’s Degree at SouthWest Texas State University in San Marcos and continued on to receive his  Master’s Degree at  Pan American University. Rudy has been a resident of Harlingen since 1982 where he resides with his wife, Laura Toscano Gonzalez and son, Joseph Ryan Gonzalez.  Rudy was a High School football coach for 31 years at Valley schools ranging from Brownsville to La Joya before retiring from coaching in 2013. Karen Moore

Karen Moore has held her real estate license since 1994 and began working with Troy Giles Realty in 1997. In 1985, Karen came to the Island from Dallas where she was self employed as a private investigator for many years. The Island pace brought out her more creative side and she began working to bring world famous artist Wyland to paint one of his famous marine murals. Efforts were successful with the assistance of the South Padre Island Community Foundation (SPICF) and over 100 volunteers. The South Padre Island Convention Centre is a popular attraction where Mural #53 can be viewed. Described as a “career volunteer,” Karen has served with the SPICF since 1991 and is currently Vice-President. The history of the Island is an interest to Karen and she is also an advisory board member of the Historic Museum of South Padre Island. In the past, Karen has served on various boards to include the Property Listing Service (PLS), the Valley Proud Environmental Council, the Rio Grande Valley Music Festival, and the South Padre Island Beautification Committee (10 years), and was an advisory board member of TIFT, the largest fishing tournament in Texas. She wrote a regular newspaper column, “For Padre’s Sake,” supporting area beautification efforts. Karen’s belief is: “It is much easier to welcome a new buyer or sell an existing property when your community is clean, beautiful, and has quality activities for families to enjoy. Mundo Laguera

Mundo Laguera was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico and has been visiting the South Padre Island since 1969 after his Grandfather built a house here. “I have been vacationing here since the 70’s; every Ester Week, Summer, some Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. The Island has always been one of my favorite places to vacation. In 1981 I move to the Island to attend college for one semester and learned English with an interest in Marine Biology. At that point I became an Island resident and starting to enjoy South Padre Island as my Home.”

Mundo finished his college basics in Brownsville when he made the decision that South Padre Island was his home. “I decided to stay here on SPI but had to find work to help with tuition, books and living expenses. In the early 80’s after the Peso’s devaluation plans changed, but not my feelings for the Island. I became a Dive Master for one of the first SCUBA Diving instructors on So. Padre Island, worked at many restaurants, bars, beach rentals and then began selling Time Share at Saida Royale’s Beach & Tennis Club. My next move was to become a Real Estate Agent.”

“In 1994 my first daughter was born and at the same time I finished my classes and passed the TREC Test to become an active Texas Real Estate Salesperson. Since then, I have helped many clients find their dream vacation homes, condos, and other types of property on South Padre island. I have represented many investors from US, Mexico, and Overseas and participated in many of the beachfront lots that sold from the 90’s till present. I have sold many beachfront condos to many investors from Monterrey and US. and many still own those properties and they still enjoy the Island as much as I do. My second Daughter was born in the year 2000 and I started with a New Real Estate office, which lasted for 15 years. Now, working with Troy Giles Realty will allow me to help and assist many more Buyers and Sellers promote and sell their properties.”

Melissa Clark

Melissa Clark is a licensed Realtor for Troy Giles Realty as well as the Office Manager. After moving to South Padre Island in 1995 and graduating from Port Isabel High School in 2000 Melissa began working in Real Estate and eventually found her way to Troy Giles Realty in 2003. Will Greenwood

Will grew up and was a resident on South Padre Island until 1998 before moving to Palm Beach, Florida.. In 2006 he enrolled at Florida State University, where he attended college for the next four years. During his tenure at FSU, wanting a sound education in small business and financial planning, Will double majored in Entrepreneurship and Finance, and minored in Hospitality. Upon graduation, Will decided to move back to South Padre Island, where he saw enormous potential in the local economy and especially the real estate market. “South Padre is a one of a kind destination to live, work, and invest. Arnie Creinin

Originally from Chicago, Illinois Arnie spent 25 years in the hospitality business working as a Chef, Executive Chef, and Corporate Chef, Director of Food and Beverage, and General Manager with Hilton, Hyatt, and the Kahler Corporation. While working in Rochester Minnesota as a Corporate Chef connected with the Mayo Clinic, Arnie had the great pleasure to provide meals for many US Presidents, Governors, Senators, and Corporation Executives as well as Kings, Queens, Princesses, and Sheiks. Arnie also opened several well known restaurant in Hotels throughout the country. Currently Arnie is President/CEO of Coastal Lifestyles, Inc., South Padre Island’s Premier Luxury Rental Company.

Zach Magaro

Zachary Magaro was born and raised in Houston Texas and has been vacationing in South Padre Island his entire life. “It has always been like a second home to me.” After Graduating from Deer Park High School in 2009 he attended the University of Houston. In 2011 Zachary decided to pursue entrepreneurship and went on to work for his family business doing sales and project management in the luxury Custom home market while building and remodeling projects of his own. With his experience in the building field, he has built a broad range clientele and experience over the last 10 years. Zachary learned to provide the service and needs of his customers in all types of markets in both the commercial and residential industry. Zachary became passionate about real estate at an early age watching his father, buying and selling land and allowing him to be a part of the process and transactions. Zachary sold his first piece of property with his father in Pasadena TX at the age of 13. Louie Tijerina

Louie Tijerina is a 4th generation Brownsville native who pursued higher education at Texas Christian University where he received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Management. After graduation, Louie worked in sales and management for a non-profit where he was a regional recruiter for programs throughout the state of Texas. In 2015, Louie began working in the real estate industry at a retail real estate development company in Dallas, TX. There he served as a leasing agent for the development company, learning how to lease shopping center spaces throughout the DFW metroplex. After several successful years, he jumped into brokerage, working for a large commercial real estate brokerage company. He had the opportunity to work and learn alongside some of the best retail brokers in the industry. At this company, Louie leased shopping centers all throughout the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex specializing in Hispanic serving markets. This was also when Louie decided to bring his talents back to the area where he grew up. Louie saw the Rio Grande Valley as an untapped market for retail real estate so he decided to begin working on retail projects in this area in an effort to bring sophisticated brokerage services to the region. In 2020, the retail real estate industry was severely affected due to the global pandemic. In response to this, Louie decided to use that time to move to the Rio Grande Valley to continue building his business that he already started while up in DFW. During that time, Louie and Troy developed a relationship that grew into a partnership. Since 2021 Louie has served as principal broker where he works on the day-to-day brokerage business of the company, working alongside the staff and agents to provide the best service to buyers and sellers looking to find their pieces of paradise in South Padre Island and the greater Laguna Madre area.
